Life Management Ministries is committed to building each facility (one multi-purpose and seven cottages)
only as the money is pledged or available. All of your financial contributions will be used exclusively for construction and furnishings. We promise to spend your investment wisely and with the utmost of biblical stewardship.
When you contribute in a significant way, we will allow you to spend several weeks per year at the retreat for your own rest, relaxation, and refreshment in the beauty of God’s creation. Ask for more information on this great opportunity to impact the lives of hurting pastors, burned out missionaries and stressed to the max executives and leaders from around the globe. Focused Scripture “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest...for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” Matthew 11: 28-29. “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, that He may teach us His ways, and we may walk in His paths” Micah 4:2. Our Project To develop a unique retreat facility in the beautiful mountains of Northwest Costa Rica. Our Purpose To impact pastors, missionaries and Christian leaders by providing an atmosphere where they will be rested, refreshed and restored to continue serving the Lord with a renewed zeal; To be a center for American churches and Christians who want to share and serve on the mission field along side of Costa Rican pastors for one or two weeks; To provide a remote place for executives who need down time in a quiet environment to escape the pressures of life! Our Passion To share the blessing of God’s creation and the healing of His Word with wounded and burned out pastors, missionaries, and executives who find themselves living under the stressful pressures of our 21st Century. Our Location Nestled in a spectacular wooded area over looking a serene valley from a tranquil bluff on the mountains in Guanacasta Province of Northwest Costa Rica, between the cities of Santa Cruz and Nicoya. The Quiet Summit is 45 minutes from the Pacific coast (to the West), one half hour from the Daniel Aduber International Airport in Liberia (to the North), and three hours from the Capital City of San Jose (over the mountains to the Southeast). Our Program “Getting away” from the daily grind of life has long been considered one of Christianity’s most effective mediums for impacting lives and strengthening the Christian’s walk with the Lord. When it comes to Pastor’s, missionaries and Christian leaders (in the church and in business) the need for renewal is greater, yet so few make it a priority in their life. Statistics have verified that the challenge-oriented and complex society of our times inherently demands an intentional get-away experience for awakening faith, providing rest, instilling renewal, and empowering the soul for refreshment. Spiritual healing and rejuvenation is a desperate need in the Christian community. According to the World Christian Encyclopedia, approximately 16 million believers walk out of the Christian church each year and most do not return do to their disillusionment. In North America, an average of 1,500 pastors and ministry leaders leave their post each month, again, most never return to the pulpit. Some surveys say 55% of American pastors would change careers if they had a good offer. Most stated this feeling was due to rejection and stress. In recent years, 80% of seminary and Bible school graduates who entered the ministry left within the first five years. Upward of 60% of pastors fight depression constantly, with their greatest problem centered in dealing with uncooperative people. Nearly 80% of ministry spouses feel unqualified and extremely discouraged. Each day, thousands of believers find too wide a gap between what they are taught in church and what they experience in reality. Disillusionment then sets in. The believer works hard to make his or her life work, and often the result is burnout, anger, resentment or even hatred toward the local church. The formulas, gimmicks and promises haven’t worked for these individuals, and many walk away from the Christian faith hurt and wounded, instead of loved and healed. A place and process for real healing and wholeness will be available as The Quiet Summit develops. At the core of TQS is rest! When we read Matthew 11:28, Jesus is speaking to the weary and burdened, and telling them to come to Him. When we do come to Him, what does He promise us? Rest. Yes, just rest. We know that sounds very un-American, but it’s the revealed word of God. Far too many western pastors, missionaries, and executives think the word “rest” is an action verb! No wonder burnout rates are sky high! With a quiet and tranquil haven like TQS, weary and burdened leaders will experience the unconditional love of the Father and be free to unwind and relax in their own time. To be personally refreshed and renewed is our ultimate goal, without a regimented program to follow. |
